Read the full blog post: Mazda RX-8 The Mazda RX-8 is a car of a storied history for Mazda. Starting life 40 years ago as the Mazda RX-3. Carrying on all these years with a front engine, RWD, rotary-engined platform it has gone on to see great success. And not just that which can be seen in the first ‘Fast and Furious’ as a ‘10-Second Car’. The RX-7 to this day still remains a favorite track car for weekend warriors as it is light, reliable, and easy to work on. Besides burning some oil and poor gas mileage, the rotary engines have served Mazda well, till now. 2011 will be the last year for the Mazda RX. The RX-8 will end its production with the 2011 model year and to commemorate this, Mazda has decided to offer a Final Edition model, the RX-8 Spring R. Mazda will be offering 1,000 units (Japan Only) of the Spring R Final Edition before it ends its life next summer.
